MakeMyTrip turned profitable in Q2 FY27, the quarter ended September 2026. It reported a net profit of $1.8 million, compared with a loss of $5.7 million in the same quarter last year. Revenue was $235.2 million, up 2.5% from $229.3 million. In constant currency, revenue grew 11.2%.

The gap is mostly the rupee. MakeMyTrip reports in US dollars, but its major subsidiaries work in rupees. The rupee fell about 10% against the dollar year on year, which cut reported revenue and growth. Entrackr and Inc42 put gross bookings at $2.72 billion, with 20.9% growth in constant currency. MediaNama reported $2.7 billion, from $2.4 billion a year earlier. Inc42 first reported reported-terms bookings growth of 11.3%.

By segment, hotels and packages revenue slipped 1% to $107.1 million, but its gross bookings rose nearly 10% to $640.4 million, first reported by MediaNama. Air ticketing revenue fell about 7% to $56.7 million, while its gross bookings rose 11% to $1.6 billion. Bus gross bookings rose 20% to $435.3 million, with tickets sold up about 25%.

Entrackr first reported that first-half net profit fell 45.8% to $10.9 million. Long-haul outbound travel stayed subdued, as costly airfares and the weaker rupee raised trip costs. The company said, as first reported by MediaNama: "Nevertheless, strong domestic travel demand during the quarter partially offset these factors and supported our overall performance," (MakeMyTrip, MMT). MediaNama also first reported that MakeMyTrip India Limited has filed a confidential DRHP for an IPO. The size is not disclosed.

Why it matters

The results show how Indian travellers are behaving: strong domestic trips, but costlier foreign ones because of the weaker rupee. A confidential IPO filing by the India entity adds another thing to watch.
