IllustrationFreshworks has acquired Robusta Dev Ltd., an Israel-based startup that builds an AI incident intelligence engine. The tool looks into IT disruptions, traces the root cause and suggests a fix. Entrackr, Indian Startup News and The Economic Times reported that financial terms were not disclosed.
Robusta works like an AI site reliability engineer. Engineers review and approve fixes before any change reaches production. Natan Yellin, co-founder and CEO of Robusta, said the deal "gives us the scale and platform to bring that experience to engineering teams everywhere, while keeping humans firmly in control of decisions that touch production." The quote was first reported by Indian Startup News. Co-founder Arik Alon also joins Freshworks. Robusta was founded in 2021, per Indian Startup News. Its open-source HolmesGPT was accepted into the CNCF Sandbox on 8 October 2025.
Freshworks intends to build Robusta into Freshservice and link it with FireHydrant. Indian Startup News, which first reported the leadership details, names Dennis Woodside as CEO and Girish Mathrubootham as executive chairman and founder. FireHydrant cost about $88.7 million in cash and was completed on 1 January 2026. A deal to buy Torii was signed on 12 October and is expected to close in fiscal Q4 2026.
Entrackr first reported Freshworks' Q2 numbers: revenue rose 16% year on year to $237.4 million. On a GAAP basis, it earned a net profit of $3.2 million, compared with a net loss of $1.7 million a year earlier.
Why it matters
Freshworks was founded in 2010 by Girish Mathrubootham and Shanmugam Krishnasamy, and Indian outlets covered this as a startup acquisition. The sources say little about direct impact in India.
