Innovist revenue nears 3x to ₹686 Cr in FY26 as L’Oreal deal closes

The Gurugram beauty startup grew its profit on a sharp rise in sales, and its majority sale to L'Oreal closed in October.

The 30-second read

  • Innovist's FY26 operating revenue was ₹686 Cr, nearly 2.8 times the ₹247 Cr of a year earlier.
  • Net profit was ₹21.5 Cr, up 87%, while ad and promotional spend rose to ₹262 Cr.
  • L'Oreal's majority purchase, at a valuation of around ₹4,100 Cr, closed in October.

Innovist posted operating revenue of ₹686 Cr in FY26, nearly 2.8 times the ₹247 Cr it made a year earlier. This was reported by Entrackr and The Economic Times. Net profit was ₹21.5 Cr, up 87%, first reported by Entrackr. Entrackr also reported that Onesto Labs operates Innovist.

Profit before tax was ₹30.5 Cr in FY26. In FY25 the company had a loss before tax of ₹55 lakh. Costs rose fast too. Total expenses were ₹662 Cr, against ₹250 Cr in FY25. Advertising and promotional spend climbed to ₹262 Cr from ₹84.2 Cr. Commissions to sole selling agents were ₹92 Cr, up from ₹15 Cr. All of these figures were first reported by Entrackr.

The numbers come as L'Oreal takes a majority stake. The deal was announced in June at a valuation of around ₹4,100 Cr and closed in October, first reported by The Economic Times. The paper also said, citing people familiar, that revenue rose by a further 50% from June to October.

Innovist makes cosmetics and beauty products in India. Customers can buy them on its own website, on online marketplaces, or in offline stores run by third parties. It is based in Gurugram and is the parent of Bare Anatomy, Chemist at Play and SunScoop. Ad spend was about 38% of operating revenue, so returns on marketing are worth watching.

Why it matters

The deal is a notable exit for an Indian new-age consumer brand that manufactures at home. It also shows that heavy marketing spend can sit alongside a profit, though investors will watch how well that spend pays back.
