Apple set an all-time revenue record in India in the September quarter. This was the first earnings call under CEO John Ternus, who took over on 1 September. Apple did not disclose any India revenue figure, as first reported by Analytics India Magazine.

Ternus said, as first reported by The Hindu BusinessLine: "We grew in the vast majority of markets we tracked, setting September quarter records in the Americas, Europe, Greater China, and the rest of Asia-Pacific. We also set September quarter revenue records in both developed and emerging markets, in addition to an all-time record in India". In India, Apple also had a record for iPhone upgraders and all-time records for Mac and Services. Its average selling price in India was above $1,000, an all-time high.

Globally, revenue was $114.5 billion, up 12%, and net income was $30.7 billion. iPhone revenue was $57.6 billion, up 17%. Mac brought in $10.8 billion, up 24%, and Services $31.6 billion. Fiscal 2026 revenue was about $479 billion, also a record. For the December quarter, gross margin guidance is 45% to 46%.

Costs are a worry. Memory chip prices are rising and weigh on margins. Apple lifted the price of the iPhone 17 by $100, along with some MacBook prices. Counterpoint Research said iPhone shipments in India fell year on year, though iPhone 17 was the top-shipped model. Tarun Pathak, Research Director at Counterpoint Research, said: "India is moving from an iPhone growth market to a full ecosystem market for Apple, and we expect that shift to accelerate in 2027 and beyond as the installed base expands". The Hindu BusinessLine first reported this. Kevan Parekh is Apple's chief financial officer, as first reported by CNBC-TV18.

Why it matters

India is now a record market for Apple beyond the iPhone, and also a growing base for making and exporting phones. Apple, though, has raised some prices to offset rising memory costs.
