L&T reported its Q2 FY27 results on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, for the quarter ended September 30, 2026. Consolidated profit after tax rose 33% year on year to ₹5,202 crore. Consolidated revenue was ₹78,750 crore, up 16%. The year-ago profit was ₹3,926 crore, and EBITDA was flat at ₹6,845 crore, first reported by The Hindu BusinessLine. Faster execution in the Projects, Products & Manufacturing businesses drove revenue. Lower finance costs, treasury income and better working capital efficiency also helped profit.

Orders were the highlight, and it was the highest quarterly inflow the company has seen. The Hindu put it at ₹1,47,665 crore, up 28%, and The Hindu BusinessLine at ₹1.47 lakh crore, also up 28%. Mint reported ₹1.48 lakh crore, also up 28%. International orders made up 63%, or ₹92,375 crore. The order book on September 30, 2026 stood at ₹8,53,514 crore, up 15% from March 2026, with 54% international, first reported by The Hindu. International revenue was ₹45,870 crore, or 58% of the total, also first reported by The Hindu.

S N Subrahmanyan, Chairman and Managing Director, said: "The Company has delivered a strong quarter in an everchanging geopolitical landscape. This performance reflects continued customer confidence and our ability to secure large and complex orders across sectors and geographies," first reported by The Hindu. R Shankar Raman, President and Whole-time Director (Finance), said: "We are maintaining our guidance,". He also said ₹10 lakh crore of opportunities sit in the pipeline, and that water supply projects worth ₹40,000 crore face funding delays from state governments, both first reported by The Hindu BusinessLine.

On West Asia, the company said its sites and operations are unaffected. A prolonged crisis could still defer some revenue, and freight and raw material costs may cause a lag in revenue and margins. Asked about the deferral risk, Subramanian Sarma, Deputy Managing Director (and President), said: "We will have to wait and see," first reported by The Hindu BusinessLine.

Why it matters

L&T is a major Indian infrastructure and engineering company, so strong orders point to healthy project momentum. The ₹40,000 crore of water projects stuck on state funding is a domestic risk to watch.
